A true piece of American firearms history – the Colt 1848 3rd Model Dragoon was carried by soldiers, frontiersmen, and adventurers during the mid-19th century. Known for its stopping power and rugged design, this model was a favourite among Texas Rangers and pioneers pushing westward.

“COLTS PATENT U.S.” marked on frame; { ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY } to barrel.

Matching serial numbers (#11858) on cylinder, barrel, trigger guard frame, butt & frame. Manufactured in 1851.

German silver front sight blade.

Wooden grips in very good condition, with light handling marks and approx. 20% original varnish remaining.
